John G. Fisher, III, Pharm.D., D.A.B.A.T., F.A.A.C.T.
John Fisher was a founding incorporator of the Alabama Poison Center in 1981 and has served as its director since 1992. This poison control center receives over 30,000 calls per year and serves as an information resource for both the public and health care professionals. Dr. Fisher is a diplomate of the American Board of Applied Toxicology and a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology, and he has had extensive experience in both clinical and forensic drug testing and analytical toxicology laboratory operation. Dr. Fisher has been the Responsible Person at a SAMHSA certified drug testing lab, he has been the scientific director at a College of American Pathologists certified Forensic Urine Drug Testing Laboratory, and he has served as a laboratory inspector for both certifying organizations. Dr. Fisher has also had experience working in both hospital and pharmacy environments. Thus he offers expertise in the areas of evaluation of the effects of toxic materials in humans (including evaluation of impairment), interpretation of forensic lab tests (including interpretation of workplace drug testing results, both federally and non-federally regulated), blood alcohol and breath alcohol results, and postmortem lab results. Dr. Fisher can evaluate therapeutic drug use for drug interactions and adverse drug effects, and he can interpret therapeutic drug monitoring results. Dr. Fisher has also served as an expert in litigation related to his areas of expertise.
